I know it’s odd but I like getting up in the dark. The dark feels sheltering–like I’m cocooned in a safe, warm place. I look out the window and the lights of town sparkle in a choker of gold and silver jewels. Suspended overhead is a white-light star and on the right days, a barely there sliver of a moon. Beauty clothed in darkness.
As I sit and enjoy my first cup of coffee–my favorite one of the day.
I write in my journal, have my daily devotions and just enjoy. I am not feeling rushed or anxious to get on with my day. After all, technically it’s still night.
How appropriate it is for the orange dawn to flare as I go to my computer…starting my day in unison with the the sun.
